ALL, MANDATORY - Ea - 09-15-2016 now you're staring at a queen. They had been summoned -- up the Mountain, once again, though the journey this time was much easier. And then the oceans parted, and the new land opened up before them. Their Island. Ischia. It was fitting, really, that Beqanna had given Ea an island. She was perpetually alone -- even at her peak, when she’d had the kingdom and Ramiel and the children, she’d always felt alone. But, as she takes her first steps onto the beach -- not the beach whose sand smelled of stale death, but their beach, that smells like fresh greenery and clean sand -- she finally breathes a sigh of relief. For a moment, she forgets about Ramiel and Sela and Kha, forgets about how she sleeps alone now, cold from the harsh winter instead of curled up with their warmth. She still has Sabrael. She still has Tiphon and Phaedrus and Ashley. And now, she has Ischia. Ea looks around and spots a few of the others that had been brought in by Beqanna. She moves closer to them, and lets out a call for the others that remain. As they begin to gather, she addresses them. “Hello all, many of you know me but for those who don’t, I am Ea,” she begins. Once again, she has thrust herself into a leadership position -- it is where she is most comfortable. “Welcome to our new land -- Ischia --” it is not the Dale, I know, but still beautiful, she almost says, but bites her tongue. “I would also like to introduce Tiphon, Ashley, and Phaedrus,” she pauses, nodding to each one, “we will all act as a council of sorts, though I will be overlooking everything. Beyond that, I would love to hear your ideas for our new home. Would anyone like to go first?” [ooc note: you do NOT have to reply IC, although of course you may if you want to boost up your points I have made a google doc - I know, you're sick of google docs but I'M NOT AND NEVER WILL BE - to share your thoughts/comments/ideas. tell me everything!!!] RE: ALL, MANDATORY - Sabrael - 09-21-2016 The roar of the ocean is still in his ears. Sabrael RE: ALL, MANDATORY - Spink - 09-26-2016 Sounds good to me. I know I wasn't here for the foundations of the kingdom, but I am very much looking forward to pushing this forward : as far as Ashley being a Wiseman, what is his role within the kingdom, and do we want to have the wisemen do specific stuff, or just be "wise"? RE: ALL, MANDATORY - Leah - 09-28-2016 we can still be totally flexible with the structure, so I am completely open to suggestions. 'wisemen' was just a random term - my idea for them is that the council + ea are all "in charge", ea's just kind of the deciding vote. I do like the idea of all of the castes doing at least basic training together, so maybe the council can be in charge of that training (we 4 can come up with games or whatever for everyone), and then pull people who show interest in certain castes to earn more individualized responsibilities. or you can just hang out and be wise. I'm cool with whatever. maybe we should have a vote after x amount of BQ years to either keep the same leader/council or replace certain members? what do y'all think? RE: ALL, MANDATORY - Mentalio - 10-04-2016 I have like a huge idea.. I wasn't here for the previous version of this kingdom (nobody was in it) but here goes. There'd be four castes - war, defense, peacekeepers and spies. They'd each have similar stuff that comes close to their names. War would be the troops that would go help allies. They'd train with defense - and sometimes spies - and have War-only spars where you fight in uneven groupings (ie. 2-on-3, 1-on-2, etc). They would not typically patrol. Defense would be your home-base-warriors. The defense of the team, essentially; they would train with War and have some lessons from the spies for quickly and quietly moving and learning to listen for equine. They'd patrol daily (or near-daily) and if somebody knew showed up, escort them in if needed. Otherwise call for somebody to alert the ruler(s) and council. Peacekeepers/Peacemakers.. They'd be the diplomats who go about working on forming alliances with powerful equine - rulers or not - for bettering the kingdom. They'd sometimes be accompanied by a War member if passing by/through hostile areas. Spies would do exactly what a spy would do in human life.. Spy on hostile kingdoms/herds/etc.. Report back to those who are need-to-know.. You get it! They'd also help the Defense caste with learning to quietly patrol and listen for equine before they see your/before you see them. |
