The star that shines so bright - Porcia, Reagan, any - Gyps - 12-02-2016

The light that shines so bright.

Ever since she had visited the Taiga with Andras, the place had popped in and out of her head. Of course she was aware of the fact that nothing has changed, that the trees would always be there, but the longing for a safe and secure home had grown with the birth of her child. No, not simply her child, their child, even though Gyps still couldn’t stand the thought of Andras being near their little girl. The anxiety attack had scared her so badly, that finding a home has become a priority on her list. A home that could provide her little girl safety, making her own selfish desire to be one with the sky so much less important.

”Porcia, stay close to me darling” she calls out to the black and white spotted girl, not at all liking the idea of letting the girl roam in this unknown area. She assumed the Taiga would be safe, that her little girl wouldn’t face any danger here, but the anxiety hadn’t left her body yet. Even after a couple of weeks, the blue haired woman refused to let her daughter get out of sight, keeping her as close as she possible could. Nobody would lay a hand on her baby girl, not as long as she was alive. But with the time that passed, the tension, fear and motherly worries worn her out extremely. Yet, she couldn’t get herself to reply totally on Andras.

we’re on each other’s team…

Reagan felt revitalized. Her magic was back and she found herself remembering why it was so excellent to have such a great power at her fingertips. She was back, and she was alive. She had survived the birth of her child, and now he followed dutifully behind her, fluffing his tail and walking with her, almost pressed into the side of his mother as she stepped around the trees. She looks down at him; smiles. This is going to be a special meeting.

Reagan can feel Gyps coming, but her heart warms when she knows that she’s not alone. There is something strange in the air here, and yet it is clear that the blue lady has chosen—hopefully—to make her permanent home in the safety of this forest.

Once they clear the grotto, Jason’s excitement gets the better of him and he bounds away from Reagan. With a stern glimpse, he is brought back to her side and they make their way to where Gyps is, Reagan trying to keep in her smile at the surprise in store for son..

When at last her eyes are rested upon the other mare, her features clear and she appears at rest. “Hello, Gyps. Pleasant to see you again. And Porcia. She’s lovely. This is Iasan. I brought him along to play with her. Not many foals his age here. I venture he’ll probably head to the playground at some point. Can’t keep him behind.”

The light that shines so bright.

As they stand there, Gyps cannot get herself to stand still. Her head is held high, aside from an occasional dip so she can nuzzle her daughter, ears twisting around to catch every sound coming from the forest around her. She’s nervous, and tired, so tired, but she cannot let it show. That would be the same as making a target out of herself and Porcia. When Reagan – finally – arrives it is as weight is lifted from her shoulders. Swallowing the dry lump in her throat she meets the older mare’s gaze, her head dipping slightly in a silent greeting.

It is when she is about to pull Porcia closer to her side, that she spots the spotted colt at the other woman’s side. Gyps blinks a few times, before a soft smiles tugs at the corners of her lips, not able to not relax at the sight of another child, but also somewhat amused by the likeliness. Slowly the black and blue girl looked up at the gray mare again, her eyes showing her conflict clearly. For the first time she felt like she could actually let go of Porcia a little, to let her enjoy playing with others, knowing well that the magician in front of her would keep both children safe. ”You.. you can keep an eye on them, right?” she asks softly, a light, nervous, tremble in her voice.

If the two would set of to play nearby, perhaps she could share her worries with Reagan, without being afraid of letting her girl out of sight, or Procia overhearing something she shouldn’t.
