So I was reading through Loess's description and found that Tropical ferns grow within the kingdom .Usually in order for tropical species of plants to throve, there is some form of humidity, would that mean that Loess does get blanketed by snow during the winter? Or the appearance of those tropical ferns is just a random oddity within the land?
