Blown By the Breeze [Any] - Callula - 08-23-2017

It was one of those days that set the soul at ease. The sun was high, casting a long awaited warmth after the chill of the night before. Only the birds' songs and the rustling of vegetation in the wind were to be heard.

Enjoying the peace was a petite chestnut mare, the image of serenity itself. Her head hung low with steady breaths shifting the air before her. The pink on her bottom lip was clearly visible as it drooped with the overwhelming relaxation. Dark eyelashes covered her hazel eyes while her lids became low. Her haunches were slanted into a steady slope with her right hoof planted at the tip, curving her leg at each joint.

Her coat looked as if it had been woven with copper flecks wherever the sun hit. The splashes of lighter fur blended as her coat grew thicker with the cooling season. Flaxen hairs splayed over either side of neck, easily manipulated by cowlicks.

If not for the periodic swish of a dark tail one might believe she were a statue. She was still very much aware of what moved around her. Every sound set her ears to swiveling in attempts to identify it. No scent went unnoticed by her wide nostrils. Despite her peaceful demeanor, she was ready to bolt if it became necessary.

if there's a light at the end, it's just the sun in your eyes

Rarely does Amet trek to the Field, except when Autumn falls across Beqanna. The foliage in Hyaline had begun to turn recently, changing from their vibrant reds and purples to more diluted and neutral tones, indicating to Amet that it is time to travel to the meeting grounds to offer a home to anyone who may be facing the struggle of spending winter outside of a secure home. And, considering that he is leaving Tephra today, he has a need to travel through the Field on his way home, so it's only logical to spend a little extra time there to see if he can be of any assistance.

The long grasses, usually a vibrant green but now nearly a grain color, sweep across his leather-plated legs and underbelly, tickling as he meanders. The Akhal-Teke stallion lets his gaze drift over the gentle contours of the Field until they rest upon a liver chestnut mare, standing in repose towards the center of the billowing grass clearing. Amet turns his narrow frame in her direction, his hooves beating rhythmically against the soft ground as he moves. His dragon scales glimmer in the sun, all fire and sunshine and gold.

When he finally does reach her, the Dragon King nickers politely to announce his arrival and gives the chestnut lady a pleasant smile. His ears turn forward, nestled in a bed of tangled mane, as he lowers his head in greeting. "Hello there, miss. Welcome to Beqanna," he assumes that she is new to their lands, as his flared nostrils do not recognize the scents that permeate from her, "I apologize for disturbing you."

Quite honestly, she was shocked. When the voice rang out, her head had lifted as it naturally would. Only what met her eyes caused a slight bulge in her expression. Never before had she seen an equine with... scales. They were beautiful. In an ethereal sort of way. The way the light danced across them. It gave him the appearance being treasure itself.

After a quiet moment of observing her head bounced in a soft greeting. "Thank you." A smile graced her lips as she righted herself. Pulling her back to her full height, which was still not enough to be shoulder to shoulder with the stranger. "No apologies necessary."
