Color genetics question? - Krys - 11-25-2017

Okay guys, help a lady out.
Dante is a silver smoky blue roan (Ee/aa/nCr/nZ/Rr).
Could someone with some knowledge of horse genetics show me what this would actually look like? I’ve seen some things on Google but much of it is conflicting.

Help? Big Grin

Ohh. Ok, so this could have some variance while still having the same genetic code. Roan is pretty mutable to begin with. I think this guy might be a good estimate of expression though. Pretty color!

Possibly a body more in line with this. Looks like an alternate name would be Grulla Blue? Interesting. http://www.grullablue.com/soldhorses/05raincolt/revside10-1-05.jpg

A single cream gene won't modify a black coat unless there's some serious sun fading going on, so basically he's going to look like a regular blue roan with silver, ie a white mane/tail. Smile The pictures Bruja posted are pretty much the color he'd look. Big Grin

Basically, just imagine a blue roan with a silvery white mane and tail, and there you go! Pretty color!
