RE: Quand on n'a que l'amour - Warrick - Amorette - 01-12-2018 Her chuckle is light and airy, and when she glances back the reflected light of the lava isn’t the only twinkle in her eyes. The easy smile upon her lips seemed sowed into place, and yet it stayed genuine all the time. ”Okay, okay, I believe you” she replies laughing, though Amorette secretly watches how he trots to catch up. Amorette Quand on n'a que l'amour. @[Radar] <3 I really should learn how to write less lengthy replies XD RE: Quand on n'a que l'amour - Warrick - Warrick - 01-13-2018 like the sun swallowed up by the earth Amorette is a gentle spirit, and so is Warrick. It is no surprise that the two get along together so swimmingly, and Warrick wonders to himself why he has never done so before. However, there is a side to him that is darker than he would care to admit - even to himself. Tephra and its residents were above any other, and he knows that in a heartbeat he would fight for any single one of them, and would not blink an eye as the life of a evil being slips into nothingness - death is nothing new to him, and his troubled life has led him to believe that some do not deserve to live amongst them. Karaugh did not prove herself worthy of such light and kindness (such as Amorette possesses) and he will not allow a soul upon their home to chip away at what goodness was left in the world. Gryffen - he hopes he is dead, and all of his little compatriots. There is some goodness in all badness, but he has seen the exceptions and he will not give second chances to those who do not deserve them. A sanctuary is what Warrick imagines. The broken and forgotten could live safely amongst Tephra, without fear and judgement. He would protect them all from the harshness and evils of the outside world, but he cannot do that without letting a darker side of him take over when it is needed, nor could he do it if he did not have a cutthroat commander that wills loyalty and protection for the volcano as well. He wonders momentarily if Amorette would ever doubt him, or question his ways to rule, and the idea that she might hurts him, but he swallows the sadness - she understands far more than she lets on, and he would not doubt her loyalty to him. Amorette admires his wings, the gentleness of her gaze taking in the soft and supple feathers, that once extended fully could easily lift him into the air with one strong swipe. Beneath her gaze they flutter, ruffling at his sides in a soft whisper as they brush against each other, delicate little things that, by itself, were of no use, but together, were incredible. Her words are soft as they leave her lips, and his blue eyes rise to meet hers with a curious expression. “They give what we need,” he murmurs thoughtfully in response, snorting softly. It does not take the little mare long to begin to stray closer to the bubbling pit, and he follows her without hesitation. The closer they moved, his adrenaline would rise, tightening within his chest and increasing the pulse of his heart throughout his body. It was exhilarating and made him feel alive to be so close to something so naturally powerful, and for a moment he loses himself into the orange glow, forgetting that Amorette is beside him. Her warning is meant to bring him back into focus but he reacts a moment too late, and the searing of his flesh is immediate and burning. The sound is almost more terrible than the pain itself, and he winces as he can hear the auburn skin melt away and the lava singe into his muscle of his shoulder, dotting down his legs and even burning away the blue at his legs. An expletive leaves his lips in surprise and pain, and sheepishly he glances to her in almost an apology as they dance away from the fire - she had been hurt too, and he frowns. Warrick is about to speak, to suggest they stop being so curious and move down the volcano to find water to soothe their small burns, but he never gets to it because in an instant, a mixture of smoke and fire and burning fill his nostrils and alight on her body, and he snorts at her with concern - what was happening? He steps closer, nosing her with his muzzle on her curled neck as she brings her muzzle to her wounds, brow furrowing above his blue gaze. It takes only a moment and she has turned her face back up to look at him, and with a tilt of his head he smiles at her amusedly. “Healing?” he questions her, “with fire?” He had seen so many things - but never has he seen a destructive and powerful source be used for fixing thing instead of burning them to ash. She comes to reach for him and he doesn’t hesitate, meeting her halfway by extending his own muzzle and welcoming her to heal the small burns that adorn his chest and legs. “Please,” he says with a gentle laugh, his eyes sparkling. Warrick @[Amorette] <333 RE: Quand on n'a que l'amour - Warrick - Amorette - 01-14-2018 Up until today, Amorette has yet to face real hardship in her life. She only has pleasant memories of her youth, which had been carefree and bright. In her memories, the Mourning Mountains was a good place. Perhaps a bit empty and bare, but good nonetheless. Back then she had been too young to see the truths hidden in plain sight, such as the hardship her sire had put her mother through. Amorette Quand on n'a que l'amour. @[Radar] Sorry not sorry <3 RE: Quand on n'a que l'amour - Warrick - Warrick - 01-17-2018 like the sun swallowed up by the earth He is not surprised that the power that infiltrates all of Beqanna has ended up within some of his very closest companions, and he is thankful that these gifts have found them. Beqanna is a generous country, and seems to enjoy giving its fruits to its inhabitants. He is especially glad to see when their abilities are created in such a way that they can be used to doing good, like how Amorette’s new ability began to heal his burnt and seared flesh. He cannot say that he is completely relaxed when she reaches towards him, and the terseness in his muscles is evident as she warns him of its pain in the healing. He dare not close his eyes, however, in fear he would miss the magical healing on his very own skin.Sharp flames arise from his wounds, the largest being the one on his shoulder. It is painful, perhaps more painful than the original wounds themselves, and the great stallion winces and sucks a sharp inhale of air through his clenched teeth. The smell makes his nose wrinkle, sweet and stinging on his flared nostrils, and he wonders what Amorette thinks of it, suddenly worried about putting her in such a situation - to heal burnt flesh. But the little mare seems more than happy to do it, despite the lack of allure that comes with her healing process. Smoke rises from each wound as the flames begin to wane and die away, and he is thankful as the cool air greets his skin. The dots on his legs are now healed most nicely, and quickly his navy and auburn coat will fill in the patches where the hair had burned away. His shoulder is in near perfect condition, save for the raw pink of his skin showing through. He laughs, shrugging his shoulder with gratification in his eyes. He would take a few weeks of hairlessness to say that he had been perfectly healed by Amorette’s fire. His wings flutter against his sides in delight, the great navy feathers rustling as they brush against each other. “What a gift, Amorette!” he exclaims with somewhat of a half-rear, his forelegs pulling towards his chest for a moment before they fall back into the soft earth of the volcano. “A true blessing.” Warrick @[Amorette] RE: Quand on n'a que l'amour - Warrick - Amorette - 01-18-2018 Her fire healing is both a blessing and a warning. It allows her to look after Tephra and her habitants, she wouldn’t ask for anything in return, just as she would try make sure nobody else would gain from it. But everyone knows Amorette is quite naïve and tends to focus on the good, sometimes even blind to the bad. However, her gift comes not without a prize, a prize everybody would have to pay. Amorette Quand on n'a que l'amour. RE: Quand on n'a que l'amour - Warrick - Warrick - 01-20-2018 like the sun swallowed up by the earth She mentions Pele and his chest warms with adoration, realizing that Amorette has become a genuine and close friend from their hike up the volcano together. It had been a sort of bonding experience, one that led him to trust and understand her more than he had originally, despite knowing her probably the longest out of any of Tephra’s current residents. With Ellyse in Sylva and Offspring seemingly disappearing into the mists of the mountains, he is glad that he has someone beside him who remembers Tephra for more than just a few years - someone who has been here since he had been a young and lost soul, and has seen how the volcano has changed him into something completely different. “Wielding this gift will come easier to you in time. You should have seen my first attempt at flying.” The memory shows on his face, his eyes sparkling as he remembers Ellyse and her training, the way he had clumsily flitted into the air for the first time, unsure and hesitant, before quickly falling back to earth. Learning had been painful, but he is so thankful that he learned - he now expertly can dive through the tightest corners of the mountains throughout Beqanna, hover above the ocean’s waves with only inches between him and the water, or climb higher and higher into the heavens without a second thought! But suddenly the sparkle in his eyes fade and dim, and his brow furrows with contemplation - he misses his golden friend, and as he presses his lips together, he wonders why Sylva has remained so silent these past few months. Perhaps it is due time for him to leave Tephra, and scour the land for both Ellyse and Dahmer. He is hesitant though - a feeling of dread stirs in his stomach, as if when he arrives to the great forest, he will be displeased with what he finds there. The sound of lava spitting beside them once again brings him back into focus with a loud snort. With a toss of his head, he presses these serious thoughts behind and gently flutters his great wings. “Let us go; I am sure the volcano will not be so merciful next time.” He smiles at Amorette, and gives her shoulder a gentle nudge with a stretching of his neck towards her. Trekking back down the volcano is harder than it is coming up, Warrick decides. There are moments he wishes he could take to the skies and not be subject to gravity’s pull, but if Amorette had to do it, he would too. Their steps are as light as they can be, but still rocks and loose pebbles tumble from their perches, and his legs are heavy by the time they near the bottom of the volcano. He is out of breath slightly, sweat staining his haunches and chest, but he smiles all the same. “I’ve been meaning to take a trip to Sylva,” he says to her over his shoulder as they continue their disembarkment, “would you care to join me?” If he were to stumble onto the forest by himself, he is afraid what he will find there will be harder to digest without someone by his side. Warrick @[Amorette] RE: Quand on n'a que l'amour - Warrick - Amorette - 01-21-2018 His kind words encourage her, and Warrick even humours himself in the process. She chuckles softly, gratefully accepting the offered joke. She offers him comfort in return by gently bumping her muzzle against his shoulder. ”I would have loved to witness that” she offers him with a grin, before the humour leaves her features in favour of smiling at her friend thankfully. ”I hope you are right, I’ll remember your words next time.” Knowing Tephra’s king has faith in her would surely help a lot to deal with her insecurities.
