Sooner or later we’ve all got to let go of our past.// any - Knaught - 11-02-2018

Knaught stands by the shore, staring out into the distance as the breeze blows through his fur. His winter coat is coming in where the purple spots on him look black. The flower crown he won from the summer party in Hyaline is laying on his head. He sighs softly, knowing he might as well never go back to Hyaline as long as he's alive depending on how the plague is running rampant around Beqanna.

Knaught closes his eyes and listens to the tides crash against the rocks as he thinks about how he is willing to risk his life to protect his friends, his home. He takes a deep breath and embraces the overwhelming scent of the salt.

He thinks about his sacrifice for himself and his home, even though he wasn't known that well. He was just seen as a stallion who found a cave and stayed there for a bit. Yet, somehow that little time he was there made him fall in love with his home. His home.. He never thought of anywhere as home before, except now.

He sees spots —
Thinks it is the pretty spotty filly from the party on a beach much kinder and warmer than this one.

It’s not her.
It’s someone else. A stallion. One not much older than he is but old enough. Anything over a weanling’s age is old enough. Old enough to be reckless, to pick fights and break hearts. Or if you’re like Sviko, hide away behind your mother’s tail as talk of disease and destruction are whispered to the air.

He spied the flower-crown atop the stallion’s head. Summer’s king, he thinks. Wondering if the stallion had even had a chance to rule over something for an hour or a day. Of course he’s remembering all the times he played king of the hill with his brother and sister.

Will usually won. Rhae and Koko typically just shot light beams at each other. Sometimes they ganged up on Will. Aimed small beams of blue light at her until she shrieked and came after them, which was usually the idea.

He shakes his head, trying to stop thinking or at least remembering for a little bit. It’ll get better, it always does. But he turns his attention back to the equally young stallion. “It’s not the same any more, is it?”

Knaught is swishing his tail as he realizes another horse is approaching him. He flicks his ears back in the direction of the sound. He turns his head once the horse is by his side. "Hey there," he says smiling softly. "It never is the same." he replies to the stallion, curious as to what he's talking about. "You need to cherish the times you've had" he sighs softly, moving his head up to fix the crown from falling off.

"I'm Knaught by the way," he tells him.
