Winter could claim all the grazing soon enough. Chemdog watches the young stallion from a small group of pine trees, their bushy branches camouflaging his body as best it can but his ghostly white face and his bright teal eyes stand out still. He does not linger in the distance for long and figures he should approach before the stranger moves off.

“There’s no good grazing here, I’m afraid.” he approaches him from behind, tiptoeing as best he can on those big feather feet. “Once it’s seen several frosts it’s just shit.” He stops beside the stallion, “Back home in Hyaline there is still some grazing and I’ve got some forage stored myself.” He applies the bait to his trap. In his defense his traps always have escapes, choices, but he’s a firm believer in sometimes employing some coercion to get what he wants…

“I’d be happy to take you there.” He pushes his nose in the direction of his home. “There is a Queen there, Kensa, a lovely girl. I’m sure she’d be happy to have you among her ranks if you’d like.” he grins that crooked grin, swishing his thick tail.
