your breath frozen in the air, newborn droplets of iceyou were the one thing i got right
Clarissa may be young, but even she can read into the tensions surrounding her home and her surrogate father, and the sweet girl only hopes that they can all come to a peaceful agreement before it comes to bloodshed. Her blood runs thick with the blood of dragons, and while her draconic form is a sight to behold, she feels no need for violence and unnecessary war. Maybe it’s just that she is young and so naïve, or perhaps she is just ignorant to the way things work. For all she knows, this is just how things happen here, and she’ll be the first to admit that she doesn’t know a whole lot.
There is something of a leader’s summit going on somewhere within Loess, and Clarissa knows better than to try to join them. She is not even a year old yet, and if the meeting turns to violence rather than diplomacy, she knows that Castile’s fiery temper is enough to tear Loess to the ground single-handedly – and then he would turn his wrath on the other kingdoms, and the teal-and-gold girl knows better than to intrude on matters that are of no concern to her.
It’s fairly boring, though, to be off on one’s own with not much to do.
Autumn means that Loess is starting to change in ways that Clarissa has never seen before, and underneath the warm sun she finds herself staring at the way a fern has begun to turn colors in the slightly chillier temperatures of fall. Slowly, carefully, she reaches a taloned foot towards it, brushing her claws gently against the browning fronds, her golden eyes sparkling as she grins. She loves to immerse herself in Loess’s greenery, learning all she can from touch, smell, and taste of all of the unusual plants that blossom here. Sometimes it leads to a bellyache or a scraped mouth, but it’s nearly always worth it.
As focused as she is, she doesn’t even notice the boy approaching her from behind.
