    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

She remembers Father loving her. Like he loved Kharon and Kali and Mother. But she also remembers him looking at her, and Kharon, with horror. He hadn’t liked the way she and Kharon were. It was normal for them to be close, as they were twins, but according to Father it had been tóó close. Back then Kylin hadn’t understood what it was so wrong. Shouldn’t she love her brother? Up to today she does not understand why Father thought it was wrong, but she does remember the look he’d given them. Yes, she loves him, or used to before he left, but even though she misses him, she resents him too.

Kylin’s relationship with her family seems to be based on both love and hate.

But, like Bristol, she does not want to linger in the past right now. That could wait until another time. Someone actually seemed to take interest in her, and the offered trip does hold her attention. Even more than all the things that had kept her mind busy until then. “This way” she tells Bristol with a small smile, and a dip of her head. Kylin does not want to implicate that the bay mare wouldn’t be able to find it on her own, she simply wants to help. And to start exploring further.

Hazel eyes take in the dark mare as she dips her head to quench her thirst. Though Bristol indeed looks like Brennen, she does not see the bay stallion standing her before her. Bristol is very much herself, as Kylin is sure that Brennen wouldn’t take her out exploring in an almost playful way. “W-what way?” she replies, startled, having gotten lost in thoughts somewhere along the way. Only then Kylin allows her hazel gaze to move in the direction Bristol is nodding to. “I don’t know.. Don’t think we’ve ever ventured there..” If they would go to the left, they would end up in one of the more beautiful flower fields Ischia had to offer.

“Which means the exploring is up to us?” It is hard to deny that Bristol doesn’t spark a thing within her. The bay mare’s curiosity sparks her own, and Kylin is more than eager to explore. Once Bristol takes the lead, of course, because she definitely needs someone to take the lead. And it wouldn’t be Kylin herself. “Do you want to go first?”
