    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    THE SANCTUARY
and in the dawn of morning
we saw the sun of justice rise
    AN OVERVIEW

welcome to silver cove, where our mission is to protect and defend the needy of beqanna. refugees, wanderers, children, orphans, the injured and the sick are all welcomed within these borders. classified as a sanctuary kingdom, we seek to keep the peace, forming neutral or friendly bonds as exclusively as can be managed depending on the political climate.

    THE CARETAKER(S)

the responsibilities of this position are the same as those of a typical king or queen, and can be held by a single caretaker or two caretakers. guiding the kingdom during times of political unrest, ensuring that every newcomer is greeted at the border, and maintaining a functional and active structure within our kingdom are the caretaker’s main responsibilities.

    THE PROTECTOR

the protector takes up one place in the sanctuary council, whose role can be compared to that of a general. responsibilities include leading war caste meetings, guarding the borders, training new sentries (or warriors), and representing the sanctuary as champion. furthermore, as a member of the council, the protector’s opinions and advice are sought after by the caretaker(s) to help make major decisions.

    THE AMBASSADOR

the ambassador makes up part of the sanctuary’s council. responsibilities include leading peace caste meetings, greeting newcomers at the border, training new diplomats, and aiding the caretaker(s) in organizing kingdom visits. furthermore, as a member of the council, the ambassador’s opinions and advice are sought after by the caretaker(s) to help make major decisions.

    VOICES

although largely without any defined responsibilities, the role of any voice in the council is to advice the caretaker(s) whenever they ask for it, and whenever they do not. it is implied that they will socialize with all residents of the kingdom, ensuring their comfort and safety. furthermore, as members of the council, their opinions and advice are sought after by the caretaker(s) to help make major decisions.

    THE SPEAKERS

the speakers are active members of the sanctuary who are interested in politics, peace, and diplomacy. headed by the ambassador, these diplomats are separated into three ranks, with each higher rank having more sway in kingdom decisions and more respect for having worked towards bettering our kingdom. responsibilities include recruiting, stealing, making kingdom visits, greeting newcomers at the border, and reporting news to the caretakers or the ambassador.

    THE SENTRIES

the sentries are active members of the sanctuary who are interested in war, battling, and justice. headed by the protector, these guardians are separated into three ranks, with each higher rank having more sway in kingdom decisions and more respect for having worked towards bettering our kingdom. responsibilities include recruiting, mocking, challenging, guarding the borders, accompanying diplomats on kingdom visits, and protecting the harboured especially in times of war.

    THE SHELTERED

those seeking protection in silver cove. they are separate from those participating in the peace or war caste. the sheltered are allowed to remain within the cove for as long or short a period as they choose. each individual comes to be sheltered for different reasons, and are thus allowed to stay for different lengths of time. the harboured owe no allegiance to the sanctuary, and do not need to announce their departures, though they will be greeted upon arrival.
