TEALi
Beautiful Disaster
Beqanna
Assailant -- Year 226
"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

TEALi The mare staggered
she fell into him
as he lifted his body
next to hers.
Being so close
so vulnerable
makes her feel
uneasy.
Her heart beats
against her chest
like an angry drummer
pounding away.
She slowly moves
forward
motion
it makes her
queasy.
She swallows
the feeling
trying to concentrate
on the words he is
saying.
Jedi
what an odd name.
"I am Layali."
His kindness was
foreign to her
trust was not something
that came easy to the
spotted vixen.
However, she supposed,
she had to, for now, unless
he gave her a reason
otherwise.
Horse's Full Name: Layali
Breed: appaloosa

The mare was still uneasy and seemed un-trusting of him. He could not really judge as he does not know this mares history. She introduced herself as Layali, a suiting name for the pretty mare. They ever so slowly walk towards the creek. The moon was shining, the crickets were out. It was so quiet you could hear the night critters jumping around in the tree. After some time of walking they finally made it to the creek. "Layali we are at the creek, go ahead and drink" the stag removed his body from hers but was still close enough to catch her if she could not stand on her own. She needed to drink to regain energy. "Layali, do you want to come to my kingdom? We have healing powers, I will need my queen to help you though." the mare was in and out of understanding and he hoped she was awake enough to understand the question. . Jedi The Journey is Yours

TEALi It was critical
that Layali be
safe
able to rest.
She drank deeply
from the creek.
Each gulp of the crystal
blue liquid made her feel
slightly stronger
well less weak.
She gathered herself
and looked up at the
painted stud. He was
kind of handsome.
However Layali was
not to fond of voodoo
witch healing
or strangers
or most things for that matter.
He had been nothing but
nice to her so she had to bite
back her initial and potentially
rude retort to replace it with
a softer, sweeter,
answer perhaps.
She mauled it over
flipped in every which
way inside her brain
and picked at it for a
moment before she
spoke.
"I need rest, I need safety, yes,
but I wish to be healed by no one.
If my destiny is to die then so be it."
Maybe that still came out
a little harsh but Layali had spent
so much time worried about how to
survive.
Social issues seemed
unimportant before now.

Jedi watched as the life came back to the mare as she drank the water. It was a sigh of relief when she gained strength, still very weak. But the life was returning. She rejected his help to be healed which he respected. He gave a nod of understanding, she did say she needed to rest and that she needed safety. He would stay with this mare until she was healed and could journey off on her own. "I will stay with you until you are well, you will not be alone." no horse wants to be alone at night, the choice to sleep or stay alive. "Layali, will you be leaving after you are healed?" the stag inquired. He was rather fond of this mare, his heart was still caught on the golden vixen from his kingdom but this mare was close to him, he wanted to protect her and keep her safe. . TEALi This boy was
trying to be prince
charming or something
Layali thought to herself.
It made a grin
fall across her lips.
Something about him made her feel
SAFE
that was also a foreign word
to my girl.
She wondered for a moment
why was he out here in the first place?
Was he searching for a maiden in distress?
She marveled over
her own thoughts
her own imagination.
But she pulled back into
reality
his question.
It was a good question
and a valid one at that.
Honestly, Layali,
had not thought
that far ahead.
"I am not sure. I suppose that depends,
if I find a reason to stay
or a reason to leave."
