    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

It had been so heartbreaking to loose Rosalind, especially so soon after gaining her. It had been so exciting, so fulfilling, to be able to have that part of her soul visible and alive. It had been amazing to be able to interact with that part of herself. And when the magic had been ripped away from the land and Rosalind had disappeared, Eira had felt like a part of her soul had disappeared with it.

But she knows that how she feels must not even begin to compare to how Weir feels.

She’d only had Rosalind for a few months, but Weir had had Darwin for years and years. To have that suddenly disappear? She can’t even begin to imagine.

So when he had turned away from the Dale, she’d understood. The place is too painful now, too full of memories of the life he and Darwin had created there. It would be impossible for him to continue living their happily.

So, despite her love for the kingdom, she had gone with him when he had left.

It’s been a quiet life in the Tundra so far, her days spent playing around with the girls in the snow. She has no desire to take part in the ranks of the kingdom here, and neither does Weir. So their lives are quiet and pleasant, well, as pleasant as can be expected given their losses.

She only wishes there was something that she could do to ease his pain.

And today … today she hopes that she has something that will. Something that will make him smile, if only a little.

Only hours before, in the peaceful isolation of one of the Tundra’s caves, she’d given birth to their fifth child together - a beautiful little chestnut girl that looks so like her sister Lumi. And now that the girl is on her feet and walking, Eira is out hunting for Weir. She wants him to meet the beautiful girl that they both created together.

She nudges little Taiga along until they reach the center of the kingdom, and there she stops, letting the little chestnut filly rest against her side. She lets out a low call, hoping that Weir and the other members of their family are somewhere nearby.

Also please don't feel obligate to fast post, this can be as long lasting of a thread as you like. Smile
