    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

if there's a light at the end, it's just the sun in your eyes

It isn't much longer before the mare visibly relaxes; her muscles are no longer taut and twitching, and her lips are no longer twisted into a frown. He can't help but to relax completely, as well, content in the fact that he has gained her trust. She accepts his offer whole-heartedly and the Akhal-Teke colt prances in place, excited to add another soul to their congregation.

He's proud of himself, to be barely an adult and already offering a safe place to wanderers. He wishes, almost, that He could see just how well he and Iset are doing, but then the dragon-scaled colt pushes that thought from his head. "You don't have to apologize, Misty. We all have our reasons to be scared," he offers politely, with a small shrug and the silent hopes that she will find her safety in the Lake.

"Would you like to go exploring? We might find my sister around here somewhere."
