    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Amet is a diplomat. She has always known this, and has always despised this. When they were younger, in the Dunes, their roles were set in stone: Iset was the instigator, Sakir the mediator, and Amet the kiss ass.

Though they were becoming closer, more sympathetic to each others personalities and quirks, Iset still saw hints of that frightened little brown-noser that never took her side. He was protecting them in his mind, she knows this now. But when that diplomatic side of him emerges, she can’t help but get a little bit…touchy.

His loud call was what woke her. And, we should get one thing straight; Amet may be the one with scales, but Iset was the real dragon when she was woken up.

And she was ready to start breathing fire.

Her whiskey eyes opened heavily, already narrowed and prepared to confront her brother. A low grumble fell from her mouth as she rose to her feet, stalking over to where her brother was standing in the water, reflecting the sun. Her mane caught on a low hanging maple branch, and she roughly tugged it free, irritated at any and everything.

Long legs tore through the resistance of the water and stomped their way to the scaled stallion like a petulant child.

“Amet!” She barks, “What the hell? I was sleeping!” She looks around them, seeing a distinct lack of Hyaline’s residents that answered his call. She rolls her eyes and returns her vexation to her eldest brother. “You really couldn’t wait until I had woken up?” Wanting to make sure her point hits home, she rears up on her back two legs, relying on the water surrounding them to balance her as she comes down forcefully, spraying them both with cool water.

Satisfied that she had made herself clear, her eyes wander across the shoreline in search of some of the familiar faces that resided with them at Hyaline.
