    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    Blame it on chance

Grass and soil is not so soft on the frame when one is thrown onto them. The first breath taken by the small pinkish colt was forced out as he landed on the ground. His pale coat still covered in the pink hue of birth. He shivered on the ground breathing now in deep newborn gasps. He could not make out the noises around him all that well but, when new to the world how does one know what sounds mean what. He did not know what murmuring words meant and what the sound of his mother's hoof falls were. He only knew he was cold and not being warmed in any manner. He did not have a name and neither did he know really what he was. The little colt started to lift his head and open his eyes for the first time. He had blue eyes ringed with in pink hued sockets and his pink nose wiggled some. He shook his head and his ears flopped around on top of his head and what an odd sound that was for a newborn. His head shook as his neck held it up and he made some small noises with his mouth whining almost as he lay in the grass not at all sure what to do, or even where he was.
