Joplin
freedoms just another word for nothing left to lose
Something was wrong. There had been no sign of their parents in days. Her stomach was rumbling with a strong aching hunger, she felt tired, and most of all she was scared although she wouldn’t admit that freely. Where were Mom and Dad? Where was the black winged stallion that her dad liked to glare at? They had disappeared without a trace. It felt like forever (and to a child with no concept of time, it was forever) since they had last been together. Left alone in the birthing cave, only to awaken and discover both were missing.
And now they were starving to death.
Her tiny hooves drag across the sand as she moves, small muzzle reaching for the comfort of her twin brother. Little wings rustling in the spring breeze as she chokes on her fear and tries to focus on the task at hand. The sooner they find them, the sooner they could eat. ”Maybe we should find Smoak.” She whispers to the colt, not sure why she’s whispering. Small hard knobs of bone protrude through her buckskin hide around her shoulders as she becomes more anxious, having little to no control of this unknown power. A recent thing that has happened since they have gone missing.
She smiles at her brother, trying to appear brave and strong. She’s awful at hiding the distress in her hazel eyes. Glancing towards the volcano, remembering their older brother’s adventurous streak. ”Maybe he’s over there?”
