    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    someday, we will foresee obstacles
    I have my own life.

There is a relief and a calm that comes from wading down into the icy water of the flowing river. It wraps itself around her body, soothes her, sings her a quiet lullaby. Guzzling and slurping loudly, she quenches the thirst in her throat as Canaan had quenched the thirst in her heart. Finally, my mare is satisfied. She has had enough. The peace in the thicket is cut short by a piercing cry, full of sadness, as it cuts the crisp air. Her ears pin in slight annoyance, until she realizes she knows the voice. It is an old friend, come to call upon her after several years of anonymity.

Dragging her swollen frame from the water, she shakes herself then answers him. She is different now, changed. Her belly is wide and swings low, carrying the precious cargo given to her by her beloved, and a few more feathers adorn her mane (also gifts from her winged wonder), but she is still the red wytch. Body the flaming color of copper, hair wild, spirit unruly. Smiling, she returns his greeting with a nicker. "Hello Stone! How are you? I'm doing well!"

I am stronger than you know.
