    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

He belongs nowhere except for the raging sea, and perhaps that is why he finds himself attempting to drag others down into its abysmal depths - to have them join him in his sinister home, helpless beneath the weight of his powerful ability. Blood rises to the surface - angry and dark as it flows with the ocean’s current, a bitter red in a sea of gray. Some reaches him and splashes against the pearlescent color of his pale legs, staining them a muddy dark red. He shudders, his body wavering in between his solid and liquefied self, at moments becoming entirely the same as Nerine’s raging ocean, except retains his equine shape.

Finally, Maugrim releases his grip on the ivory colt with a bit of a frown, black eyes searching the vexatious and turbulent gray waters in hopes for more, and is slightly disappointed in the lack of excitement. The stranger’s body doesn’t come floating to the surface (not yet), and though the predator is overwhelmed with patience, his taste for blood has yet to be satiated. The sight and smell is not nearly enough, metallic and bitter in his mouth, and only causes him to crave for more. A gutteral sound roils in his throat, a groan of longing and sudden impatience, clacking a single forehoof against the wet and craggy rock he stands upon. He had relinquished his grip on his prey (in hopes of a bit more struggle, a bit more blood) and in his greediness, has lost his plaything.

In the blink of an eye, the two-toned stallion of kelp green and pearl becomes translucent, his frame a wavering and fragile body of ocean water, frothing along the edges of where his mane and tail should be. His eyes, despite their evident clearness, are still wild and roving with near-madness in his liquified state. He allows the part of him that keeps him in the shape of a stallion to loosen, and he falls with a solid splash against the rock and spills into the water, free to roam the currents once more.

He does not know if he will be able to finish the job he had just started, and if he cannot find the pale colt, he is sure to find another to take his place.

You don't have to reply if you're happy with Maugrim losing him and that is how he escapes death! Thanks for letting him have some fun, lol Smile
