    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    Down by the sea [Any]

Autumn had rolled in once more with its slow wave of color changing leaves where there were no evergreens of course. The evergreens of nerine grew on a couple of nerines coastlines and, one of those was where Ardashir had started to place a claim on. There were no herds within the kingdoms and so, this was only a claim on this place in name and in no way an ownership. Ard had walked along the granite rocked coat around the summer months. He found the large slabs of rock a great place to rest and gather some warm on. He had grown used to the sun as he had grown and no longer shied from it as much.

The white stallion was grazing away in his own little private glade. Enjoying the rays of sun that were left to warm the surroundings before the sun would slip away into the bleakness of night. The night though in these months before winter could be filling of course with the stars and even on some rare occasions the dancing colors of an aurora. He felt his muscles twitch some as some pest landed and was shaken off by his movements. Ardashir had grown to enjoy his time alone in this place  just wandering and sometimes allowing himself to strengthen himself by either swimming or galloping along the paths of the evergreens.

Ardashir had not yet felt the tug of wanting as the breeding season rolled in and then back out just as with the sea of his homeland. He had not yet met a mare that made him feel anything in any aspect yet. He was sure that was his own fault though. He had only ventured out of his home once and had met only one other mare there. She a stranger to him now as he stood lazing about in this place. He lifted his head thinking back on a promise he had once made and had not seen through. A journey would not be a bad idea and meeting others outside of Nerine was not a bad idea either.

He had been lax on all things it seemed and he had no real knowledge of how this world around him worked. How did diplomacy work? Who was at peace with who? Was Nerine on the brink of a fight with anyone? If so why? His tail flicked up and around his rump a moment. He was still a little lost child waiting for someone to take him by their side and lead him. There were new scents on the air new members to the kingdom maybe. How easy it seemed to him that one could just stroll across their borders. A heavy sigh passed his nostrils as the sun sank so slowly into the sea as he watched his thoughts still stirring in his head.

The blue in an ocean of grey..
You’ve mistaken the stars reflected on the surface of the lake at night for the heavens.
