The filly was confident and Nymf was glad. It was good to be brave and she was determined to keep the little filly safe. Perhaps the more intimidating task was still to come, explaining her new brightly colored charge to the other mares of Nerine. Those horses thought strategically and Nymf wasn’t sure how accepting they would be of such a conspicuous member of their herd.
As the filly displayed her skills all worry melted away and Nymf smiled warmly. It felt like years ago that she stood at the edge of the cliff contemplating the end of her life. If Volcan hadn’t stepped in – it was hard to remember the depths of her despair.
Kiwi had brought slivers of life back into her life and she was glad to have such a young spirit at her side.
”Well, come on then,” she bade with a soft nuzzle against Kiwi’s neck. ”We have a long ways to go and you mustn’t wander off. Do you understand?”
She didn’t wait for Kiwi’s reply before she started walking towards the edge of the meadow, trusting that she would follow.
