    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    Biting’s excellent. It’s like kissing, only there’s a winner.

It’s not every day she crossed a border; in fact she mostly stayed in the meadow, or some other common land. But it was pointless staying there, day in, day out, no change of the rhythm, no-one interesting to behold.

She wasn’t sure why she chose this kingdom. Perhaps her anger was fueled by the smoke and ash, or the glooming light of the volcano. Drawn in by the idea of destruction. Distraction, destruction, destruction, distraction. Either way - she was going to need some time away from her endless thoughts on family -pah! If they’d existed, they’d died by now, she was certain. All that was left to do was wreck some havoc or find a purpose. And with neither readily at hoof, she’d simply wandered to go see the volcano.

At least she would have seen it, and could say she’d visited the literal highlight of Beqanna, hmm?
