As he returns to their thicket of lush greenery, his first notice is that Kove has not returned home. He had given her permission to explore and return to her home cavern so as long as she was home before dark. The sun had long set and a million stars lit the evening sky, so he paces in worry that something has happened. Kove was not one to push the boundries set by him.
Karat is there, also a look of unknowing upon her lavender tinted face -worry set in her eyes. She presses the broad side of her face into his neck, anxiously waiting for their sisters return. The iron stallion stills and looks out across the slight hill that dots the horizon. Emerald eyes search for any sign of movement but he sees nothing but a silent night. Turning his head slightly to view Karat he brushes the lavender forelock from her eyes, "I am sure she is fine... Just running late." He assures his twin with a twisting of his guts. They have lost so much in these last years, Ketzia, their mother and father. He could not bare to see another fall.
He is about to tell Karat he is going to search for Kove, but a small gasp that comes from Karats lips and a shimmering in her eye, turns his head to view the incoming glow of light. He snorts out of caution at what could be shining so close to earth. It was not a usual red tint that the lava or fire of Tephra produced, but a halo of white light -like that of an angel.
A familiar voice chimes across the still air, and they know who has returned. Kove had the abilities to harness light but only ever when the sun was present. She says she has brought a friend, with curiosity they both step out into the open.
Karat calls to Kove and rushes to greet her sister -brushing her lavender muzzle to the periwinkle of the fillies locks. "Kove, we were worried. Are you ok?" She questions the girl that stands next to a flattened boulder. The shimmer of light reflecting off the jewel catches Karats eye. "What is this?" If there was anything in life Karat could love more than family, it would be nearly matched by her love of gems.
Krom is mostly intruiged by the stranger who finds himself escorting their younger sister. From this distance he can tell the aura of light was coming from the male and not their sibling. He is ever the protective brother, and so, as Karat qustions Kove, Krom questions the newcomer, "My sister calls you friend, but I have yet the pleasure to meet you. What is your name, friend?" His voice is deep -demanding even- to know who has befriended his sister without him knowing of their presence in his kingdom. A child can easily be misguided in thinking a foe was friend, and so he will be the judge...
