    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

I never wanna haiku again :|

    She was once fire.
    Full of life and joyfulness
    But tears dim the fire.

    False love and false hope
    Broken promises galore
    Young eyes turn ancient

    Without banking fires,
    Cold winds smother dying flames.
    Red struggling embers.

    Fruitless struggling embers.
    Refusal to flicker out.
    Some backbone remains.

    She is a lost soul.
    Waves of grass resemble flames.
    Faded eyes unfocused.

    Wanders aimlessly.
    Unexpected collision.
    Confused eyes look up.

    Shocked recognition.
A small gasp escapes from her.
    Wide-eyed hesitance.

    Hissing embers light.
They were on fire once, too.
    She whispers, “Barret.”
