    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    Briella
your eyes are lined in pain, black tears don't hide in rain

Once upon a time she’d been busy and small, a creature of soft brownish-blonde gur and spidery legs that in a fae-like whimsy went too and fro all through the world. From the river’s edge to the depths of the forest- up the mountains, and through the ice and snow… across the endless sea: Briella had gone and gone again, constantly on the move.

She inhales, though, long and deep: the scent of season flowers and of the earth crowding her heavy lungs. Briella would have coughed, choked and sputtered; but she does not through preservation, and the lingering touch of magic that spreads through her body.

Across the green-grass sea and through the flowers she moves, long legged and easy: stopping to admire the deep red and yellow, the wide area where the sun crested atop the clouds and shone throughout and around.

No more was she skinny nor terribly small; but rather, she had grown tall and athletic: a creature of endurance and height, whose warm-blooded form spoke of old blood and of some modicum of strength and dexterity. Darker now she resembled a faux-chocolate with only hints of the true deep chestnut beneath and her wavy mane and tail seemed impossible long with a lovely hint of creamy blonde and wheat. In them, however, were things strands of ice and glistening patches: shimmering in the sun.

Paused in step, she looked across and throughout the meadow- stared and pondered: her pale blue eyes widened as the chirp of birds and all the world around her seemingly alive in a way she had not thought to imagine before.

Playful, she leaps and jumps- bounds through the wide world and springs across as she pleases: chasing this and that, weaving through brush and trees. Where she sees him is, unironically, where she turns the fastest and forces herself to slide as she comes to a stop. Blinking and frozen, she peers at Santana- quiet and calm.

“Oh, apologies.” she murmurs, trying to adjust her poise and pose. “I almost crashed into you.”
