    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

..and the strength of the wolf is the pack
So much had changed in the time she had been wandering Beqanna. Memories crowded the edges of her mind - her father, stoic and protective. Her mother, lovingly exasperated and her sister, her twin and other half the brightest ray.

That had been the last time they had all been together, back when the Kingdoms had existed and her mother had been Queen of the Falls and she, entitled as she was, had believed the world was hers and anything she wanted was hers by right. Her memories sped by faster, the images blurring in and upon themselves until just like that, they were gone, banished to the far reaches of her mind.

Shaking her head to clear the metaphorical cobwebs she glanced around, furred ears flicking back and forth atop her head as she took in the sights and sounds of where her wanderings had led her. A chill breeze ruffled its fingers through the tall trees that crowded together in every direction and she felt the shiver run from her nose all the way to her tail, a tail that was not made of strands of hair but rather fur - a blotched mix of blacks and greys.

The place she had come to was as different from the Falls as night was to day but it suited her, a calling in her bones made her feel as though she was, if not home, than comfortable. Oblivious to the going ons around her and the devastation being wreaked by the plague, she began to crop the grass, waiting for whatever to happen.
