    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    Release The Beast (Tunnel)
    #2

It is not often that he comes out of the darkness of the forest where the nightmare creatures live. The beast called Tunnel cares for nothing, about nothing. Well, almost. There is a part of him that has been inescapably arrested by one of his precious things but that is a tale for another time, for another child’s ears.

The wind has kicked up and the thunderheads of a storm follow the blue stallion out of the whipping branches of the dark forest and into the nearly empty meadow. His face is dark, smudged with blackness like funerary ash, his eyes flat and grey as they drag across the expanse before him, an open and unappealing place.

A small voice, that of a little golden child draws his attention. A small squirrel dashes away chittering when Tunnel takes a step towards the girl and her rodent company. The massive brute altering his path to approach the lone girl. “What are you doing out here girl.” The words do not curl into a question, but she will answer all the same. She is too bright for his taste, too glittering to make her one of his. His heavy footfalls cease when he us beside her and Tunnel butts his muzzle against her small neck and then shoulder as he draws her scent and snorts, lip curling. No, this one is not to keep...

like a shipwreck we die going into ourselves
as though we were drowning inside our hearts
