i have loved the stars too fondly
The last time their King had called out, Aedan had absolutely ignored it. He’d been far too young to care then, preferring to gallivant around Beqanna then to stand around and listen to adults talk. Truthfully, he still felt that way. Two years old did not feel like an adult at all, even if he technically was a stallion now. His legs mostly fit his body but not really, his coat is mostly that of an adults but not really, and his mane and tail have just decided to be permanently short apparently. That seems less to do with age and more to do with his strange, night-touched appearance.
Given that he is technically an adult and maybe someone should direct some of his energy rather than let him run amock, Aedan decides to go answer today’s call from some lady. Some lady because he doesn’t know most anyone in Tephra, and so far, hasn’t really cared to meet them either. Today he would at least see some faces and whatever this was all about.
He’s one of the first to arrive in the group, and the mare before him is a flowery thing that he doesn’t recognize (why would he, he has studiously ignored most adults up until recently). He nods in her direction, not quite as warm as her smile but not because he is mean, but because he is different than her. It’s as simple as that. Eventually she speaks, and announces that she’s queen.
Welp, okay then. Tephra couldn’t seem to keep a monarch lately, even though the two previous are named to her council. Her speech his short (thank the faeries) and he has absolutely nothing to add other than, “Let me know what I can do to help,” because he wants to do something but has no idea what that something might be. Then he falls silent, letting the real adults talk. He only wants to pretend at being one anyway.
