    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

BETTER BEWARE, I GO BUMP IN THE NIGHT
DEVIL-MAY-CARE WITH A LUST FOR LIFE

Ygritte moves through her homeland. She loses herself within the tangles of ivy, the dapples of flitered sunlight. For sometime she had felt lost, useless without her plants. They had become her quiet friends, her refuge.

    But-

But when the fairies too k back the magic, hollowness crept in. No longer did the trees part for her. No longer did the flowers weave in her mane. No longer did they stretch to brush against her cheeks.

    The pain was horrific.

It only seems now, with the voice of Kreios, and the gentle tug of her nursing son did she manage to swim back to the surface of her depression. It seemed so long since the sun shown brightly, the air sweet with spring. And on this day, the salmon pointed woman moves with a smile playing on her lips. She had forgotten how much the Falls held her heart.

A pause in her movements only gives way to the mare looking skyward to gaze upon a ceaseless blue sky, the orange pink of her mane tumbling in a spill down the chestnut of her neck. She feels radiant in the warmth of the sun, redeemed. The long lashes of her eyes drift lazily downward as she smiles in her own quiet solitude, if only for briefly.

Blazed had only had Memento, her fiery filly, a few days before and was back to debating with other diplomats, talking with Jedi, and working on keeping her family together. Both Sunfall and Mandalocks were adult mares now, and she had no foal the previous season. Memento was her youngest, and Blazed was worried she would grow up in the shadow of her Warrioress sisters, and turn cold, possibly even like her father.

Sunfall had been out on patrol with Mandalocks and Jedi, teaching her what kingdoms surrounded them and who they were allied or hostile with. Mandalocks had asked some different questions than Sunfall, and Sunfall answered a few of them; things such as 'Where are the Falls' weakest places?' or 'How likely is it that there are infiltrators within the Falls?' after learning about the kingdoms' statuses. They had reached the entrance and separated from Jedi, Mandalocks heading off to find Blazed. Sunfall and Jedi had parted, too, and Sunfall had gone to do a playful mock.

She was on the way when she saw Ygritte's salmon mane and chestnut coat as she had been enjoying the quiet of a small grove, and turned towards the queen. She had a colt with her, and Ygritte had had a brief smile on her lips for the first time in a long while - nearly a season. Sunfall smiled back lightly, before saying hello. "Ygritte. Good to see you. How are you and your colt?" She says happily, glad to have come across the queen during a positive moment.

At the approach of dear Sunfall, a smile trivkles easily over her lips as she nods her head in greet. But Ygritte moves further to embrace th mare after the silly formalities. It seemed as of late that Beqanna had fallen into a comforting lull.

The growing colt at her side curiously watches the mares. He is bored easily with his mother and her dullness and chooses tug at the grass, or watch as bids fly overhead. Ygritte smiles at her child before looking to Sunfall. "We are well. It is nice to be out in the kingdom again. How are you Sunfall? Plans to have a little one of your own?" Ygritte asks gently. The queen decided herself to spend time with her already born children and to break from birthing.

    Just saw this, replying now!

Surprised by the embrace, she leans into it lovingly for a few moments before stepping back, remembering what all had been happening. "That is good. It is nice, indeed," The grullo mare pauses, trying to figure out how to tell the mare about her and Jedi. "Yes, I.. We do. Jedi and I, we're going to have a foal," She says quickly, quietly, looking down and away after she says it. There; it was out. At least her mother already knew. She watched the colt standing next to her looking around, seeing what the world around him peacefully offered at the moment.

@[Ygritte] Not the best post, but it's there.
