    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    forever in their lovers embrace

Everything made Newton uncomfortable. All the lands were too hot. He felt like he was sitting within a furnace day in and day out. The sun beat down on him and simply drained the spirit and life out of him. The heat stole away his desire to wander. He wanted to return to his cold sanctuary. He wanted to return to the north where the icy air stung the muscles. Unfortunately his dream was unattainable as of now, but hopefully with Offspring the Tundra would rise again.

Sahm thought that the forest would be a better area to rest. They had searched the meadow and met a few horses, but now it was time to settle in the shade. The forest would be a bit more difficult to find familiar friends, but the duo had to give it a try. Sahm had a bit more of a bounce in his step as he crossed into the tree line. Newton couldn’t help but smile at Sahm’s antics. He sped up his pace and whipped his muzzle across Sahm’s butt before exclaiming. ”Nice cheeks.” Sahm spun around and nipped at the air in front of Newton’s face. ”And their all yours.” He grinned. Newton genuinely smiled for a moment and trotted beside Sahm. He tapped his enlarged belly to Sahm’s side which caused Sahm to veer in the direction of a tree. Luckily he dodged the bulk of the trunk and merely caught a chunk of bark in his mane. ”That is a weapon!” Sahm exclaimed. Newton laughed.

Distracted, the pair almost walked right into a smaller bay mare. ”Woah…hey..” Sahm breathlessly said.
