    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    and here she was, again.

how fleeting light could be - how quickly change could come. on ivory wings lit afire to send an unsuspecting crashing to the earth. crashing and burning and still time ticked on.

    tick, tock. tick, tock.

aranea was surprised. not by the removal of power - she had felt it, had seen it change and had mourned its loss like the rest of them - but by the shift in the world. to disappear from the valley and end up here again - to realize that once more it had all changed. how could any of them seen that coming?

the world that they lived in was powerful, any fool with an eye could see that. but powerful enough to change everything in the blink of an eye, without any room to argue? THAT kind of power was unheard of..

so here she stood again in silence. the meadow was in an uproar as kingdom members scrambled to find eachother, set adrift by the tides of change. she did not join the hubbub but watched them, instead, unable to block the comparison to insects from her mind.

funny, how they looked so normal now.

    but...

her gaze shifted as she stretched and it traveled up the length of these new appendages. at least this could be fun...

    ARANEA
    (immortal, mute, infrared vision)
    from dust, she returned
    the dream, an enigma... silent
