    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

The Orange Country was brilliant. It was there that Nymeria was finding inner peace. The land was filled with little-mostly nature. The trees whispered, the breeze moved the Earth, and Nymeria simply existed. When Kreios left her, Nymeria would just stand still and watch for every small movement. She would laugh quietly to herself when a scurrying lizard would fall or smile when a flower peaked out ready to bloom. It was in the simplicity of life that she was found.

On this particular day Nymeria had decided to venture out. She wasn’t quite sure why the simplicity was not enough to engage her attention for once, but apparently today was a different day. Nymeria had heard rumors of a friendly land- A place that was near the field where she had found herself homeless. Jason, Nymeria’s  father, had spoken of this place as well. It was where he had met one great love. Nymeria wished that her father had spoken more about Beqanna. Whenever he had it also felt coated in dust as if he was recalling events that had occurred centuries beforehand.

When Nymeria arrived in the meadow she sunk into a shadow beside a tree. Her bay shade blended into the bark. She didn’t stand out, and she wasn’t sure that she wanted to. Now that Nymeria had reached her intended destination she was beginning to think that it may be best for her to return to the Orange Country- to Kreios. She had chosen him to be her protection and without him she was beginning to feel vulnerable.
