She has never before had to live life without her sight, not like this. Not in this form. It is nearly unbearable, the lack of it. She has grown so accustomed to flitting from sight to sight, from going where she pleases, if only in one sense, that she is unsure if she can do otherwise.
But she must, of course. Beqanna is powerful. And she had wanted to teach them a lesson.
Unfortunately for her perhaps, she is stubborn. A trait that has always stood her in good stead, but also one that is difficult, if not impossible, to unlearn.
So she makes the trek up the mountain so that she might once more experience the glory of her gifts (she has not yet been able to earn them back, much as that might irk her). It is a difficult trip, of course, but despite her small stature and slim frame, she is hardy, persistent.
Besides, she needs to find her brother. Illum, her twin, her other half. She misses him, and she knows of no other way to locate him. She is not even certain this will work (it used to be so easy to find him, to tell him she wished to see him). Can her stripped magic even stretch beyond the bounds of the mountain?
It is an answer she cannot know, and a question she refuses to ask for fear of the answer. Still, she can hope. Hope that her brother will see, that he will come. And though he cannot possibly hear her, still she sends his name into the ether, along with her signature calling card. ”Illum.”
