    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

The buckskin and black mare's beauty if almost too painful to look at. The new year had brought with it the cycle of her curse where she lay most vulnerable. She is too pretty and too stupid for her own good. The dark eyes seem to peer aimlessly as he stares stupidly at the sky...watching, watching, watching the fat snowy clouds roll across the hazy sky. Khameleon is oblivious  to her surroundings and continues to stare upward.

Even when the snowflakes begin to fall and stick to the chimera colored mare, even when she is shivering from standing still in the meadow, the mare watches the shapes in the sky with a dreamy, dazed smile.

Some time passes before the stunning creature breaks the spell when her desperately hungry stomach cries out in protest to the needless fast. "Oh." She says in pretty and delicate tone before dropping her head to eat some of the tasteless and brittle brown leaves. Goodness, they sure were yucky. A small clatter of laughter echoes from the depths of her throat before she remembers to eat grass...not dead leaves. "Oopsie." Khameleon laughs again before she begins to tug and chew on some little bits of grass that remained from the clutch of winter.
