    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    Magnificent
Woke up on the wrong side of the Mountain, and that was an understatement. Magnificent was appalled when she woke, finding her wings missing from her pitch black back. The fact that her horn remained intact did nothing to lessen the blow, she was simply outraged.

She didn’t stick around either, she wanted Father and she wanted him to fix this. Father wasn’t around though, no one seemed to be. She was alone and dirty, covered in twigs and leaves and dirt. It wasn’t a good look and part of her was happy that Kirin was nowhere to be seen, he would not have been too pleased about the current state of her appearance and she wasn’t really in the mood for a bath.

Magnificent had found that she was on the side nearest to the den and she sure as Khaos didn’t want to stay there. After walking for what seemed like eternity (seriously, how does anyone get around without wings?!) she found the playground, another place she didn’t want to be. Small children made her uncomfortable and annoyed. From the playground it was the field and then the Meadow, both were fine for a stop, some food and a few days rest but otherwise she was uninterested in staying long in either place. Someone might come along and want her to join his herd and, well, she already belonged to the BEST herd so she would have none of that.

It is not surprising that she found Tephra, drawn to the volcano rising up against the blue sky as she searched for her herd and her Father. It was warm and beautiful in a way that only things that cause destruction are. It was much like herself of course and she found that she was tired of walking, of looking for Kirin so she might as well camp out somewhere.

This was a decent spot, with tropical plants, emerald leaves as big as her head. The flowers that sprung up among the vines were vibrant and formidable, some even caught small birds, their open faces lined with what appeared to be lashes. Small streams of lava wound their way down the mountain side and she took to the jungle like foliage on that side, nearest the biggest cluster of red rivers. In her mind it meant safety and seclusion because she wasn’t so sure she wanted to associate with whatever horse had claimed this land. The impression she had of kingdoms was that they were filled with those that were out to ‘do good and save the world’ or some mess like that.

Today she was clearing a small path, one that would lead out to the nearest source of water. The lack of wings meant she often had to fight her way through the thick clusters of plant matter, instead of simply gliding over them.
i like you begging, do it again
