    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    Alone in a lonely world
    #2
if there's a light at the end, it's just the sun in your eyes

The young colt meanders slowly through his home, weaving between wisteria and the occasional copse of cherry trees. The noontime sun reflects brilliantly upon his new dragon scales, a stunning combination of gold and bronze, the rays dancing on each curve of his swiftly developing body. Amet had come to Beqanna a lanky, malnourished, metallic-but-dirty light bay colt and his few short months here had already proven more than beneficial.

In fact, the Fairy had granted him his scales quite recently, and the colt wonders if it is a reward for his swift work with Iset and Brennen to mold the Lake into something akin to a sanctuary for the young. And yet, the Akhal-Teke cannot feel complete, with the nagging thought of Sakir at the back of his mind. He knows that Iset misses her twin, as well... perhaps more so than Amet does, or ever really could. The two-year-old loves his younger brother, of course, but the bond between twins is something that he cannot begin to fathom.

Lost in thought (and, admittedly, flexing his body every which way to show off the glint of his scales), Amet nearly misses the tobiano mare sleeping between one of the Lake's trees. One of his trees. He watches the sleeping mare tentatively, his small hooves moving his lithe, metallic frame a few strides closer. With ears pricked forward, the young colt offers her a loud nicker and hopes that the sound is apparent enough to wake her, but not to startle her.

"Hello there, um, miss?" He pauses for a moment, shifting his weight uncomfortably, "My name is Amet. Are you... are you a friend of Brennen's?"
