Healing was something that came in slow waves. Painful nights flooding into painful days. Nerine offered her some solace, the protection of its borders quelling her nerves as she had hoped it would. Though she promised she wouldn't stay, the lands grew on her like ivy.
She was still unsure, stability was not something that had ever crossed her mind, though as she stepped through the walls of the cave she craved it. Children of all types stared back at the winged mare, soft cries echoing painfully in the small area.
Pain had brought her here, for she knew the hopelessness of being alone, and as the soft cries of newborns filled her ears she ached to take it away.
Pale legs carried her to the boy, wing unfurling before closing at her sides once more. The sight was a rough one, the child too small against the expanse of grass around him.
By the looks of the pale boy he was new, eyes just taking in the world around him. Her heart clenched, begging her soul to take him under her wing (literally).
Gentle movements brought her closer to him, muzzle dropping to bump his forelock softly. Silently she urged him to stand, green hues studying him.
