Blame it on chance

 Her head stayed low, there if the boy were to fall or need help. She allowed him to grow accustomed to the feel of standing, his legs wobbly as gravity took hold.

"Name." 

His quiet reply startled her at first, at least she knew he could speak. She nodded slowly, head raising to get a better look at him.

" Yes.... What am I to call you?"

She thought about giving him her own name, but she didn't wish to overwhelm him.

To late.

The boy's gaze was fixed on the magnificent wings that were opened around them both. While they were still battered, and worn they were quite beautiful. She chuckled at his gaze, glancing over them herself. 

With a home, Nerine had brought quite the healing factor. Her skin was not pulled as taut over her bones as it had been, her eyes shone a bit brighter, walk just that bit more strong. Though the healing was not fast enough or strong enough to save the life she had carried previously, it was enough to save one now.

With a small sigh she turned back to the alabaster foal before her, hopefully he would answer.
