He mumbled something, voice small. She chuckled at the struggle to grasp his own name. When he finally got it out she smiled, eyes softening at the boy.
"Ardashir.."
She repeated, allowing the name to rest in the air before floating away. His next question took her by storm. He wished to know if she was his mother. Her ears flattened against her curved neck, a sigh escaping her lips.
She knew that she would regret this later, but telling him the truth would be too much. Right? Tarvelie could only imagine having to process that at his age.
In time she would tell him the truth, but today was not the day.
"Yes.. Yes I am your mother."
She lipped at his forelock lightly, the lie settling in her bones.
