    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    Blame it on chance
    #10
Her own movements mimicked his, the movements of a mother and her child getting acquainted.
    "Tarvelie."
She whispers, answering the boys question. She moves to clean his coat, washing the remnants of birth from his pale coat. Her legs shift, for the child had to be hungry. Silently she prayed her body still produced milk.

'It hasn't been too long' She thought, for the child was born still only days before. She would find out now she supposed. She worked her tongue through his soft mane, allowing him to acquaint himself with her.

Though she wished to get back to Nerine as soon as possible she knew the boy had to eat, and that he would probably be tired. Her heart clenched at the thought of having to stay here longer.

The adoption den was no place she wished to linger in.
