This is a new side of Amet. Fidgeting, unsure, his brow dipping low in his agitation. There’s a weight in the pit of her stomach but she tries to play it off, giving him a tight smile and willing herself to relax. A flower loosens it’s hold from the branch it once called home and she raises her head, extending her muzzle to meet it as it glides through the air past them. The sweet scents act as aromatherapy, the tightness in her chest loosening slightly as she inhales deeply.
Everything will be ok, his heavy whisper and her eyes find his questioningly. Almost pleading. But she says nothing, words refusing to cooperate. He wants her to stay but she is tongue tied, so many questions flooding through her head. Why? As a friend… Or more? These feelings seem like such a risk, would it be worth it in the long run? Then there was the playful flirtation he had with Tang, they were so comfortable within each other’s presence. Easy going. They seemed to fit, the painted mare and the gilded stallion. Pieces of the same puzzle. A puzzle her rough edge perhaps did not fit into.
Still the mystery of what lay behind the curtain of branches and flowers is too enticing to miss. Her curiosity is piqued and when he steps aside, a soft gasp finds her lips. The willowy curtains have parted to reveal the sweet smelling flower bed arranged before her. Soft grass seems to call to her, begging to be laid in. Purple flowers seem to have fallen just right to create such a pleasing and magical image. She can see in her head, how he would have pushed the branches into place, just right.
For a moment she completely forgets the anxiety that had been plaguing her, the reason why she wanted to talk to him. It’s washed away with the rush of emotion that takes hold instead. Her heart flutters wildly against her chest as her silver swirls search his face. Glad for once of her dark skin that hides cheeks that are surely flushed. ”You did this for me?” She whispers, taken aback that anyone would do something like this for her. Nobody had ever been as kind to her as he had been. This though.... This took the cake.
She slips into the private space, the long feelers of leaves brushing lightly against the deep scars of her skin. Her aching body happily meets the cool grass as her legs fold beneath her, her muzzle pushed into the pleasant fresh greenery as she inhales deeply. Looking up at him, joy in her eyes. ”It’s wonderful!” Laughing softly, as lightly as the stars that twinkle in the sky. ”What is a… Akmar?” She asks softly, beckoning him to join her. Pushing back the nagging thoughts that try to force their way back, to remind her that this too would pass.
