Clarification on plots vs. backstories: When it comes to plots, backstories, and requesting traits, we wanted to provide clarification on what we are looking for in terms of a 'plot'. A backstory is the history or story behind your character. Where they came from, why they are who they are. Maybe they're an alien from Mars, maybe they are a mermaid from Atlantis. A plot is reasoning behind why they need to keep or gain the trait you are requesting. Why must they continue to be a mermaid rather than losing their tail? Why must they continue to have alien brain wave powers allowing them to read minds? How will keeping these traits affect them and Beqanna as a whole? The reasoning: “because they possessed these traits in their backstory” is not a plot, it's simply part of the backstory. The bigger the trait, the more the plot needs to have an interesting/compelling effect on Beqanna. If you just want a 0-space, your plot doesn’t need to add to Beqanna’s greater history, but if you want a 3+ space, it should come with a very well thought out plot. If you need further clarification on this please contact the Officials, because if you're confused, it's quite probable others are too! Since we now have questing available on the mountain for traits without backstory or plot, we do plan on limiting the overall amount of traits approved via plot going forward.
Update to mountain questing: While most quests must be rolled to determine if the attempt with be successful or not, sometimes players can ask permission for “auto-quests” meaning that their attempt to quest will automatically be successful. This does not, however, mean the quest itself is automatically successful, as it still must be completed like any other.
Additionally, there is currently a 50/50 chance of getting a successful quest when petitioned. This will be adjusted in the following way based on the current amount of traits the petitioner has:
Adjustment to breeding restrictions: Players must have posted at least 5 times since the previous breeding season in order to breed more than once. For example, if you want to breed in February, you would have had to post with any of your characters a combined total of 5 times since December.

- 66ish% chance of success if character has 2 or fewer spaces of traits
- 50% (3/6) chance of success if character has 3 spaces of expressed traits
- 33% (2/6) chance of success if character has four spaces of expressed traits
- 16ish% (1/6) chance of success if character has six spaces of expressed traits
