    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

They are off in a hurry

It's not long when she realizes why, for the journey is a long one. She keeps his pace, dancing across the fields into the plains. Two dark blots on the earth moving along with intent. They do not stop to rest, nor do they linger to visit with the Valley.

The sun slowly creeps its way up from the horizon, warming her back and casting a glare off her dark carriage. She is mindful in their crossings, taking a mental note here or there in case the need arises to travel back this way. As they near the brutes lands, the terra becomes hilly and moist. Water clings to the air creating a fair amount of humidity, one she will need to adjust too. It's a bit uncomfortable, but she would never say how heavy the air feels now as she inhales. They reach a cliff, the bay beauty floating near the edge, tempting fate. The coast winds kick up her mane, sending her dark tresses fluttering in the currents as she beholds all that is her new home. Waves crash and roll over smooth obsidian pebbles before they turn to a fine sand. The ocean she had never beheld the great expanses of water, endless they were, stretching far past the ends of the earth it seemed.

"I am pleased,"she returned, snaking her dial back towards him. A fiery gaze set forth from charcoal pools, the mid day sun beating down on her dark pelt. She turned to brush past him, snaking her length across his own in her passing. "Show me the rest."she teased, traces of a smile beginning to form.
