    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Standing on the edge of the granite cliffs, his striking blue eyes are locked on the sea that crashes against rocks far below him. His horned head is held high, neck curved and both his black ears point forward – in the opposite direction of his still growing horns. With a kick of his hooves, he sends a rock down into a free fall, a killer fall, if it would have been a living thing. Drustan’s eyes are locked on it, curiously watching it’s descent until he can no longer see it.

What would it be like to go crashing down like that?

His mother would say it is only childlike curiosity. And if that is what she likes to believe, Drustan is more than happy to allow her to think just that. Speaking of which, where is she? Bending his neck ever so slightly, the blue roan colt looks back across his shoulder, immediately finding the familiar equally blue roan form of his mother. Good. Still safe, and not about to be bothered by some other being.

What could he send down the cliffs next?
    Drustan.
