    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

Star walked cautiously into the fields. She hasnt been here since Nier claimed her which was a long time ago. But this time she was at her prime she wasnt weak and skinny as she once was. But this time she had more reason to be cautious she had a new colt with her by Nier who was never around to see him birth or hasnt been around for weeks. So she had to do the best thing and move on to another herd or stallion that will take them in. Hopefully the new family or stallion will be around. She had lost her title as lead mare of Gemstone Ridge which was fine as long as she had her son with her she could tackle anything it was just a title.

As she made it to the middle of the field her legs stopped her. She raised her white crown to the heavens and looked around. Her bay only days old son was right beside her, he was a muscular thing. He will definitely be a great stallion for any herd. She nuzzled her son as they stopped. Her black eyes searched the land for any sounds or smells of others. But it was quiet as usual. Which is fine she could call the fields her home for now. It had enough room for her little one to run and plenty of food and water for both. Go play Henry but stay close so i can see you. She nickered to him.

He noded to his mother Are there other ike us momma? He finds a grasshopper hopping along in the grass. He goes and investigates trying to figure out what it was. Wats that momma? He looked back at her for answers always wanting to learn. Thats a grasshopper, they hop around the earth. Henry looked at the grasshopper tilting his head. A gasshopter? He decided to chase it, i protect you momma. As he snorted and took off after it, chasing it off he felt so proud he pranced back to his mother. How was that? His mother laughed at him, Very good my love you did good. He wondered off in search of other adventures under her watchful eye. She never let him wonder too far. She watched him and daydreamed, on how far her life had come. She came to Beqanna for a new life and she was a lead mare of Gemstone which was new to her, and now she was a mother. She couldnt be happier, she has definitly blossomed over night it seemed. If only she could find a stallion that would always be around and love them and welcome them into there herd things would be great. She sighed wondering if that would ever happen.

Pharaon is no stranger to the field. Quite the contrary, in fact. The field is almost as familiar to the little grey as her homeland, the Jungle. But she was new to the field once before, only a young mare - so innocent and naive. She understands the worry and fear some might face in lieu of the unknown. But she has grown these last few years. No longer is she frightened and alone. She has gained a family and sense of self. And maybe she could give credit to this place - the field - as it had been this land that introduced her to Rhy and Scorch.

It is spring in Beqanna, and Pharaon walks lazily through the morning dew to the field. Spring is a time for youth, new life. And in the distance she sees a mother and her colt. Together they look upon the wonders of the land and it fills Pharaon's heart with a longing for her own son, Davos. Picking up a light trot, the mare approaches the pair. Her amber eyes bright, she speaks softly as she approaches. "Hello! My name is Pharaon, from the Jungle. How are you two on this lovely day?" The mare halts as she grows near, he glowing dapples beginning to catch the sun as it rises from behind the field's sheltering trees.
