    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

She had grown large over the past few months, staying within the comfort of Sylva for most of it. Luckily plenty of equines came to visit to keep her from going insane.

Today had been a particularly off day, her stomach had been increasingly uncomfortable. She never bore a child but certain expected that this meant she would soon mert the child she shares with Sinner.

As the day sets and the moon begins to rise her stomach had grown intensely painful and she settled into the hiding of the newly budding trees. As she suspects the pain was signs of labor, and as her body gave signs she pushed. It seemed like never ending agony and she wanted Sinner here for support, but decided it was best to not bother him. Instead she suffers alone, a few whinnys of pain escaping her maw and her scent easily detectable.

With one last push a small wet foal lay beside her and with a small smile she learns they share a filly together. The bay and red girl cautiously looked around and after grooming the foal she coaxes her to her feet, time to find father. She says quietly nudging the filly to follow Mary.

The pair move through the forest, Sinner was always easy to find because his scent was one of a kind. Her body ached and she wanted to rest, but knew it was important for Sinner to meet his daughter tonight.

As she followed gus scent she was able to eventually stumble upon the hound. With a smile the dapple mare approaches her king, slimmer and obviously having gave birth. Would you like to meet your daughter? She says turning to uncover a brown and red frosted pup, there daughter shared the hellhound shifting and quickly discovered her abilities. With a small chuckle her gaze turns back to Sinner meet Sabrina , she says, announcing the princesses name.

    Winter fell away.

Spring came forward, bursting with life through the bitter cold. Giving promise to a new beginning. A beginning of life.

The hellhound new any day now he would expect Mary to give birth to their child. He had remained content about the coming birth of their foal. Their child would find life easily within this world. It would not be a life of pleasures handed happily over or stories that children hear of princes and princesses. No, their child would be prepared and equipped to face the world head on. Just as both Mary and Sinner have found their place in the world. His children would not suffer under the control of another, but find themselves with skills to rise above everyone else.

The idea of fatherhood has changed him a bit. Sinner does not push away the responsibility that will come from his firstborn foal, but the thrill and opportunities it will bring him. It was simply another way from him to grow stronger.

But cherishing a family? Was that even possible for him?

Could he love his children as his mother loved him?

These thoughts cross his mind, but the devil never truly could come to love. He was neither his father or mother in fact. Sinner was entirely different from what hell had promised him to be.

The hour of the wolf finds not just him up. Distance footfalls flicker his furry ear in the direction he hears faint hooves on the forest floor. He raises his wet snout into the air. Taking a deep inhale in the familiar scent of Mary.

    But there is another.

His red-yellow glowing eyes turn towards the direction Mary appears. The dark wolf wears his usually stoic expression. Mary is quick to greet him with a question. She steps away, revealing a brown and red frosted pup. Identical to the way he had come into this world as an omen. Sinner takes a step forward, his stoic expression fades away. He is intrigued.

Mary speaks again, telling him their daughter’s new name. “Sabrina,” he says softly. He tastes the name, finding victory with every syllable. “She is wonderful.” He says turning to look towards Mary for a moment and then back to his child. Sabrina is everything and anything he has ever wanted in this moment. She is his future, his success, his opportunity. And for the first time, he feels a strong will to protect another with everything he can.

She wasn't sure how Sinner would react to there child, they did not spend much of her pregnancy together. Though they were not physically together, she knew that he was always lurking, aware of her location.

As she introduces Sabrina, he softly says her name in a tone she had never heard before. His reaction causes a smile to tug at her lips, she id wonderful, he says glancing quickly to Mary. Her gaze follows to Sabrina who quickly found comfort near her father flocking to him.

For a moment she pictured there life as a typical loving family, but as her gaze flicked to him it fades. She cares for Sinner, but it is not love, a bond they share as rulers and a mutual understanding. Perhaps she cares more than she should, especially for the hound who wouldn't think twice of her, but they now shared a child, a tie forever.

Yes, she speaks gently, she is like you . A soft chuckle escapes her maw, the young girl was full of life like Mary, perhaps more confident than the newborn should be, and surely would make them both proud as the heir to Sylva.

I hate to spoil the moment, but it seems rare to find time alone with you. His new toy Valdis seems to always be seeking him out, whatever objective she has. Have you heard about Bane and Lepis? The rulers up and left Loess, for whatever reason, and she had no idea what this new ruler had in store.

Should we go together to meet this new ruler? To see what there expectation is? Agreeing to be a territory under Bane was a simple decision, but under someone she didn't know? It didn't sit well with her, visiting Loess was a priority, followed up with a visit to Noah to see how she was faring with the changes.

He had never grown a connection of love with Mary. From the start it had been an interest in something greater and opportunity to benefit them both. Now it had become a bond of fondness for their shared interest and ability to work together easily. Their only true tie together now would be their child—their little girl, Sabrina.

But the hound is a selfish creature.

He is prone to having his way or with a fight. If Mary decided to get in his way… Well, he isn’t sure exactly what he would do. He liked Mary, but what if she stopped him from getting what he wanted? Was it possible their ongoing interest would one day create them to cross one another over?

The hound doesn’t dwell on those thoughts often though. It is only with the situation occurs does he. He does not focus on the “what ifs” or “how”. It simply how it is and how it should be his way.

Sinner turns his awestruck attention from Sabrina to Mary. He smiles happily at Mary with her words of how their child is like him. “I am sure she will make us both proud, Mary.” How could their little girl not? She was everything they both were, but even more. Sabrina’s future was bright, and the world was hers.

Her next words do not bring him pleasure. Valdis of late has taken his time away. His current entertainment right now, but he does not forget himself and where he stands within the politics of Beqanna. “I have heard,” he says taking a more serious tone now at the change of the subject, “I am not settled easily on it though.” Sinner does not hide his displeasure for what Wolfbane and Lepis have done. His obedience to what they had wished from Sylva had come at their price while Sylva paid it with loyalty. But this new ruler had not been part of that arrangement, nor agreed upon.

“We NEED to visit Loess,” he says stressing the matter was a must, and surely necessary.

It was amazing how a child can change your perspective on life. Sinner certainly was in awh with her, something so precious, something that could be a nightmare. Now both of them would always wonder where she is, what she is doing, and as a heir to Sylva, she will always be in danger. A bond to their child could be a downfall, but for now, in this moment, she will cherish her.

Her gaze remains on Sabrina as Sinner speaks, I am sure she will make us both proud. She could have never asked for a better partner to rule beside, and he plays a matching role as a father. She gives a nod of her head Yes, I am sure she will. The young pup is clueless to the conversation around her, to busy gazing at the fast paced world around her.

Her gaze flicks to Sinner awaiting a response on visiting Loess. There has been a shift in the southern sector, and one they did not agree upon. They would have to go meet this new ruler for themselves, ensure their voices are heard.

Sinner finally responds, and when she finds his gaze his attitude has shifted. It went from the most joy she has ever seen fill his eyes, back to his serious normal gaze. He concurs that he has heard of Bane and Lepis' departure, a true shame, one that brings mistrust upon her name.

He further indulges her with his thoughts, noting that he is also not a fan of the shift in leadership. They pair can go months without talking, but there minds still think alike, and together they make Sylva strong. He says they must visit Loess, and she nods in agreement. We should head out tomorrow then, this is an urgent matter.

@[Sinner] I figure we can end here, with so many other threads open. feel free to respond if you want Smile
