    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    hunt or be hunted
The talk of hunting fades away from their conversation. Turning to something interesting and that draws the curiosity of the hound in. Cael clearly had his full attention now, especially when it came to cause a bit of trouble in a kingdom, he did not seem to be quite interested in being under lately.

Cael is eager to share her story of disturbing trouble within Loess. She speaks quickly and an obvious happiness from the way she answers his question. The bear mare mentions something about creating a war, dragging healers and keeping them prisoner within Loess. It was something he had heard and was recently confirmed to him when he visited Loess with Mary.

However, it was something very minimal to Sinner. Truly he could careless about what sort of trouble Loess was calling unless he wished to bring Sylva into the mess as well. Sylva, from his understanding, did not need to come if called to aid in a possible war. But it definitely could be a benefit to Sylva if there was to be a war outbreak with Loess and the other lands.

He smiles silently at those thoughts, but he keeps his focus on Cael. Sinner listens to the rest of her story, keep himself engaged with a nod and shift of his head at her words. Cael is obviously determined to make there be peace within Beqanna and keeping war out of the future to occur. But Sinner does not feel the same.

“Loess has no intentions of returning the healers I will tell you that,” he begins, finding his voice in the conversation now. “The kingdom has always relied on being the strongest and if it means by force then it will come to that. And that might as well mean there could be a war if things start to get out of hand.” Would he need to have his own hand in the mess as well in order to achieve what he wanted? Was a war the opportunity to get the crown of the south? It was possible, but he doesn’t press such thoughts right now. Instead he pushes them to the back of his mind.

Returning to the conversation, Sinner continues. “From my understanding, it seems Loess wishes to make itself the strongest out of all in Beqanna. And if that means taking what is most desired during the plague then it will happen.” The healers were the key to helping others, and if Loess acquired them all then there would be great things for Loess in the future. Things that could be offered or bargained for healing someone. It was a risky strategy, but Sinner admired the boldness of Castile holding onto the late-king’s mission.

“Sometimes there simply cannot be peace as much as we desire it,” he says, watching as Cael holds a deep hope for swaying the new dragon-king’s mind. But he does not wish for peace. Sylva is strong and he knows any one of his residents would be willing to take the chance at claiming Sylva the kingdom of the south. “Of course, we can only hope and fight for what we want without backing down.” But he is not referring to the peace Cale so dearly wants. He wants the crown, and a war would be a possible way for him to claim the very kingship Castile had now.

Sinner was quite an intriguing individual, he was able to tell her so much about himself without saying anything at all, a clueless mystery arriving at her doorstep, his speech now arriving at her ears as they swivel round to listen to him.
What he says is most definitely true, for all she knows Loess could even be using her for the moment, her disruptions causing nothing but keeping her bound to the land.

The thought resides in her head now, it would make sense. If the mare continued to cause trouble, the residents could simply keep her occupied and keep her going while keeping her there, allowing her to cause small cuts of trouble in return for chains that would keep her tied to Loess.
But for now, the female kept her attention on the hound, her eyes melting into his stature as he keeps speaking, his words opening a new segment of the world that she had not thought of.

Her form was slowly getting restless, she had stayed as a bear for too long, something that would probably get her trapped at some point.
She waits until the male is done speaking before shifting back into a horse "If you don't mind" she smiles as she takes a step back, her paws forming into hooves as her stature melts away and forms into a black horse with markings on her side, her body heaving warm air as she settles.

"You are right, I don't feel so hopeful for Loess any more, Castile is firmly set on his beliefs" she nods, continuing the conversation as if nothing had happened. e

It was easy for a dreamer to believe in the small bit of hope. But it was the most dangerous of things to believe in. Hope would never be the answer.

Sinner had never put his entire belief into hope. It was a foolish thing to believe in. A falsehood of everything that was true. Hope was a lie. And he would not become a victim of hope like many others have become.

Cael is rather quiet after his long string of words in regards to the intentions of the dragon-king. If anything, Sinner wished to only speak the truth. Being misguided and following a path blindly was dangerous.

He gives not objection as the bear shifts into her true form. She transforms into something different, a black mare. He would have thought she would have been born, but even he was not the same color when he changed his shape.

The black mare then gives him a reply to his words earlier. Sinner nods his head. He can only hope that his words open the eyes to Cael. As much as she hoped to make a change, it likely would not come to be.

“It is easy to forget that sometimes we cannot change the opinion of another,” he says, but he cannot relate to it because he has never been that way. “The world does not simply work that way. All you can truly do is use another one’s own desires to get what you want.” Manipulation was the most powerful tool he knew. It worked in ways that simply could not with other methods.
