    COTY

    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

    "But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

    Long May She Reign {Castile/Sinner}

    there is but one rule
    hunt or be hunted
    How unfortunate it seemed for Sinner to be out of the loop when it came to meeting Solace. He only knew of rumors of the queen (now previous) and from what Valdis told him of her family. But he does not truly care to be out of the loop that much. The Silver Cove was not a problem of theirs currently—until the new dragon-king decided to stir up more trouble.

    Sinner can only find humor in the entire conversation that unfolds with Valdis. Mary certainly wasn’t keen on the topic of his little love relationship with the frosty mare, but he does not care to tell where Mary can go and do with her own free time either. They are both creatures of needs, and his is rather high as of late and needs attending.

    The dragon-king does not seem to flinch at the conversation of his daughter though. A master of masks, Sinner assumes, but he is careful to quickly make the final connection. It is only a thought, and he tucks it away. Remembering every little thing that is done and said by Castile is something that is of great importance to him right now.

    He laughs softly at the mention of Valdis being a bit of a threat. It only reminds him of how much of fire and desire the young girl had in her from the beginning. Something he deeply admired in Valdis when he first met her. She wanted the world, and he wanted her (and to be the one to give it all to her as well). But he does not comment on anything about Castile’s words.

    Mary clearly directs them back to the reason why they have come, and he keeps an open ear to what Castile has to say about his new ruling. What will Loess be under his rule was of great importance to the hound, and the future of where Sylva’s loyalties would lie.

    As the information unfolds, Sinner remains silent, but connects the dots to the familiarity of what Castile says. It is all too similar to the way Wolfbane and Lepis had ruled. A hand that guided from a distance in the shadows, but would not truly ever admit. All that Castile asked for was their loyalty. Except he seemed to strongly suggest it in a way that Sinner did not like. But the mention of being successful was interesting.

    What could Castile offer them that Mary and he could not get themselves?

    Perhaps only time would tell.

    He catches the glance from Mary, but the bay stallion keeps his eyes on the dragon-king while Mary speaks up next. The hellhound agrees with her words, but he knows her intentions underneath. Their own dreams and desires for themselves and Sylva too.

    “I do not see a reason why we cannot help each other either.” He will never bend the knee to another. But a partnership was something else he could see being formed. Sinner would never fall beneath that, and neither would Sylva. “Then we are in agreement,” he says glancing to Mary and then to Castile. “We will have Sylva remain under Loess,” he says with a nod of his head.
