    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

for every tyrant, a tear for the vulnerable
in every lost soul, the bones of a miracle

Hyaline’s darling is alert to the jungle behind her but it is the sea that draws her eyes. Her affinity for water has increased since the manifestation of her new ability and everywhere she goes she is drawn towards the depths, the streams, and the rivers. The waves roll in towards her and there, not quite beyond the break, surfaces Ivar.

Of course Kensa has heard tell of Kelpies, and knows that they frequent these coastal refuges beyond Beqanna’s mainland but that does not prepare her to lay eyes on one. Ivar was beautiful before, Kensa had filled her eyes with him when she’d made her little diplomatic drop in, it was the kind of beauty she now possesses, the entrancing and unforgettable kind. She senses danger in a small, instinctive and easily ignored part of her mind, and that combined with the mystery and wonder of actually seeing such a creature is enticing enough to leave her newly stunned by the sight of him.

Kensa wears her appreciation openly, topaz eyes glittering with interest as she turns back to the sea and stops when the water breaks against her forelegs. The veins of gold on her body catch the light with a liquid gleam, the both of them like painted lures. “Ivar. I would have expected you to forget me.” Kensa does not go any further into the water, but lets it wash around the pillars of her legs, lets the water pull her scent back out to him. “I hope I haven’t come at a bad time, I remembered how much I enjoyed my last visit and found myself wanting a little more.”
