    Assailant -- Year 226

    QOTY

"But the dream, the echo, slips from him as quickly as he had found it and as consciousness comes to him (a slap and not the gentle waves of oceanic tides), it dissolves entirely. His muscles relax as the cold claims him again, as the numbness sets in, and when his grey eyes open, there’s nothing but the faint after burn of a dream often trod and never remembered." --Brigade, written by Laura

And there's a lesson waiting to be learned
the firestarters always get the burns
and the good guys never get the girl

At night, the woods are dark - and perhaps once more she is slightly regretful about her loss of feathered wings; the magical ones are now barely visible at all; even the starlight is brighter today. Her change in appearance wouldn’t help anyone looking at her, accept that she is real either. And perhaps that is why she hasn’t been held up yet, why nobody has bothered her yet? She might be overthinking it though. Not many travel at night, are even awake. It is only because her wings can’t carry her in the darkness, that she hasn’t opted for the beeline home.

Or, if she’s honest with herself, to the field or meadow perhaps; there’s always something to catch up to there, and ever since the Sanctuary split itself over multiple lands, she can’t quite pinpoint her home any more. Should it matter? No. Does it? She’s not sure. But sometimes she feels more useful away from the East, than in it.

Either way, she now walks through the forest, headed east, dimly aglow in the night.

and shooting stars cannot fix the world

@[Adriell] Hmm, this is clearly a starter :P
Any fool knows men and women think differently at times, but the biggest difference is this: men forget, but never forgive; women forgive, but never forget.
